Tricycle Theatre special screening – Beats, Rhymes & Life

On Thursday 19th January the Tricycle, in collaboration with DocHouse, will host a London screening of the acclaimed documentary Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest. An all-access pass to one of the most influential and legendary hip hop groups, A Tribe Called Quest, as they reunite to perform sold-out gigs across America.

Actor, and Tribe Called Quest fan, Michael Rapaport’s acclaimed documentary charts the influential hip-hop group’s rise to fame through to its sudden break-up in 1998, and follows them on their 2008 tour as they reunite to perform to sold-out crowds across America.

The film features exclusive interviews with Beastie Boys, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Mos Def, Monie Love, Ghostface Killah, De la Soul, the Jungle Brothers, Common and also features an original soundtrack by Madlib. Plus there are extensive interviews with the band-members themselves Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Jarobi White and Ali Shaheed Muhammad.

The screening is part of DocHouse Thursdays (supported by The Bertha Foundation) an initiative that brings the very best in award-winning international documentaries to London.
