ANOTHER award ceremony…

We had a bit of a slow one in the office yesterday (it was a Monday, I had a cold), and forgot to treat you to a full run down of the Screen Actors Guild awards. We wouldn’t be a film website if we didn’t report stuff like this, so here’s a quick recap of the winners for these actor nominated awards:

Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture Winner:
The King’s Speech (yaaay)

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role Winner:
Colin Firth for The King’s Speech (yaaay)

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role Winner:
Natalie Portman for Black Swan (meh)

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role Winner:
Christian Bale for The Fighter (I LOVE YOU CHRIS!)

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role Winner:
Melissa Leo for The Fighter

In summary, The King’s Speech is building up quite a head of steam coming into the final straight before the Oscars in February, whilst The Fighter is making a deserved come back, having missed out altogether at the Golden Globes.
