Another villain cast for Marc Webb’s Spider-man reboot?

Irrfan Khan, probably best known for starring as the Indian police inspector in Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire, is apparently set to take the reins as a villain in Marc Webb’s reboot of the Spider-man series.

That’s at least the latest news from the Spider-man production as Khan is currently in discussions to join the cast. At this point it’s looking very promising with Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) as Peter Parker, the gorgeous Emma Stone (Zombieland) as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans (The Replacements) slipping into the serpentine feet of Dr Curt Connors – both mentor and villain.

It’s still unclear at this point as to which villain Khan would portray, although it’s been somewhat hinted it might be Proto-Goblin, but he’s definitely going to be a welcome addition to an already outstanding cast list. The newest instalment of Spider-man is due to hit screens July 2012.
