Chris Columbus to film Jesus Junior

From Harry Potter (a special child / wizard) to Jesus (an even more special child / wizard), movie mogul Chris Columbus has got his heart set on bringing miracle children to the silver screen.

Based on a novel by Anne Rice, Christ The Lord: Out Of Egypt tells the so-far unseen story of Jesus as a little tyke. Aged seven, Jesus leaves Egypt to return home to Nazareth, discovering that Joseph isn’t his real Dad (trauma!)…

Jesus’ gradual discovery of his miraculous birth takes centre stage of this story; can you believe his parents never told him about the immaculate conception and the angels and the manger? Yiesh, he surely must have noticed the gold, frankincense and myrrh but, then again, children are so self-centred. He was probably too busy focused on his friends and Torah Studies to question the tricky matter of his ability to heal the sick and raise the dead.

Columbus shall produce the project, whilst Cyrus Nowrasteh, oh he of The Stoning of Soraya M., is set to direct AND pen the adaptation. We can’t wait to see if this one smites the competition at cinemas!
