First trailer for Michel Gondry’s The We And The I

So the thing is, Michel Gondry directed the Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. No amount of seriously questionable films (we’re looking at you, Be Kind Rewind and Green Hornet) can change that, or alter the fact that we’re always going to be optimistic about his cinematic output. For that reason, HURRAH, it’s a new Michel Gondry film! The trailer is a bit baffling, and it looks a bit like a live action Bronx-based Playdays, but YEAH!

Have a watch, we’ll have a chat:

According to the official statement, The We And The I β€œis the heartfelt and comical story of the final bus ride home for a group of young high school students and graduates. As kids depart the bus for the last time, we get to learn about these graduates as they step into the world – their love, their conflicts, their despair and their hope.”

All of this would be fine and good, were it not for the rumours centred around an inclusion of time-travel and sci-fi elements that have followed the production about. Obviously there’s nothing in this trailer to suggest a supernatural element, but that Gondry’s a tricky blighter. It would be just up his street to have that bus fall into a wormhole…
