Hudgens and Fraser to team up for Gimme Shelter

Vanessa ‘Ooh, look at my intimate bits’ Hudgens and Brendan ‘Guns! Mummies! Stubble!’ Fraser are both in advanced talks to star in forthcoming indie drama Gimme Shelter. That’s in no way a dreadful idea…

The film, written and directed by Ron Krauss (Rave), revolves around a pregnant teenager (Hudgens) who leaves home to escape her abusive mother, gets her homeless on and eventually tracks down her biological father (Fraser). He initially takes her in, but throws her right out again when she refuses to abort her unborn child. Hang on, I don’t remember any of this from The Mummy – what’re you doing, Brendan?

Gimme Shelter represents substantially new ground for both Hudgens and Fraser, neither of whom have much form with dramatic roles – Fraser has, at a push, The Quiet American to his credit, but Vanessa Hudgens’ most high-profile performances to date have been in High School Musical, Sucker Punch and Beastly. We’re amazed she’s still allowed near a camera, to be honest. This is all going to go horribly wrong…
