Meredith Kercher’s father horrified by film

The father of Meredith Kercher, the 21 year old student who was killed in Italy, has branded a new made-for-TV film of the events: “absolutely horrific.” The film, which will air on US channel Lifetime, documents the events leading up to the crime. It shows Meredith being grabbed by actors portraying Raffaello Sollecito and Rudy Guede and pinned down whilst screaming.

The film’s title is Amanda Knox: Murder On Trial In Italy, and is billed with the tagline: ‘there are two sides to every story’. After viewing the trailer John Kercher told The Sun, “to actually see it like this is very distressing.” Amanda Fernando Stevens was cast as the 21-year-old Briton, from Coulsdon, Surrey, while Heroes star Hayden Panettiere is playing the role of Amanda Knox, who is currently serving 26 years for murder.
