The Phantom Menace 3D gets a release date

This entry was posted 1 year, 81 days ago

We suppose there’s some small solace to be taken in the fact that George Lucas is beginning the decimation of his creation with the worst Star Wars films. We can only hope that by the time he gets his money-hungry claws on A New Hope everyone involved has been killed by angry, purist hordes.

So, yes, this is happening and there’s nothing any of us can do about it. Word is that The Phantom Menace: 3D will be released in the US on the 10th February 2012, before speeding its way over to the UK. You do realise all this will do is give us ANOTHER dimension in which to hate Jar Jar Binks, don’t you George? George? Oh, we’re sorry, your ears are plugged with wads of cash, your ears being the only orifices remaining that aren’t already plugged with wads of cash. How foolish of us.

There is, of course, a way in which we can stop this utterly shameless, greasy fortune gaining horror. We can simply not go and watch it when it comes out. Seriously, that’s all it takes. If we set up a campaign now, our purist hoards should be ready, trained up and spear-bearing by the time 2012 hits. What do you think? Would you join us in Return 2D to (R2D2?) Star Wars? TELL US HOW THE REVOLUTION SHALL HAPPEN!

Comments for The Phantom Menace 3D gets a release date

  1. Lucas is so divorced from reality now that I’m amazed he isn’t trying to build himself a death star to go and live on. If I wanted to watch endless Senate debates in 3D I would just go and sit in the gallery on the House of Commons. It would actually be far more interesting.

  2. Perhaps this is what his endless cash is going towards? An weapon that can actually take out the planet, and end everyone’s misery.

  3. Only the first two Star Wars flicks are worth watching. Return of the Jedi should just be retitled Muppets in Space. George Lucas isn’t so much flogging a dead horse any more as raping it. And that’s sick! Retro-fitting these films – which weren’t made for 3D ever, is wrong, wrong, wrong. The Phantom Menace was shit in 2D back in 1999 and it’ll be the same in 3D, but it’s even more annoying to be reminded of its shitness and people having to pay about 13 quid for the privilege. Then again, Star Wars fans are mostly idiots.

    Mr. Outraged,
    Tonbridge Wells

  4. Hey, don’t drag the poor Ewoks into this. They don’t want to be 3D any more than we want it.
