Trailer for Viggo Mortensen’s Everybody Has A Plan

Yesterday brought us the news that Middle-earth’s finest may be in talks to appear in the upcoming Thor sequel, and in further related news, this morning saw the first release of the trailer for Viggo Mortensen’s latest film Everybody Has A Plan. Set in Argentina, Mortensen plays a disillusioned doctor who assumes his deceased twin brother’s identity as a means of escaping his comfortable yet ultimately unsatisfying existence.

This is the first offering from filmmaker Ana Piterbarg, who both wrote and directed the film and it will be interesting to see what new life can be injected into a premise made popular with films such as The Talented Mr Ripley and Gattaca.

Mortenson appears to have something of a penchant for dark psychological thrillers and from the looks of the two and a half minute trailer he’s very much staying true to form here. Mortensen may be reluctant to stray from his comfort zone but to his credit he has taken on quite a challenge with this role. Playing multiple characters and delivering dialogue in a foreign language is no easy feat and early reviews suggest he pulls it off.
