Trent Reznor to score Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Oscar-winning composer and Nine Inch Nails supremo Trent Reznor is to provide the score for forthcoming film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. There’s a perfectly ordinary English sentence…

Reznor, who picked up an Academy Award last week for his work on The Social Network, is currently scoring David Fincher’s adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo along with his writing partner Atticus Ross.

But his next move will be in the direction of Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov’s period epic, which will star Benjamin Walker as axe-wielding Honest Abe and featured Reznor himself in a crucial cameo; he will play the vampire whose attack on Lincoln’s mother inspires his Civil War-era garlicky rampage. Other mad and wonderful casting decisions include Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) as Lincoln’s wife Mary Todd and Dominic Cooper (Tamara Drewe) as Henry Sturges, the President’s very own Van Helsing. If we were any more excited about all this we’d be weeping holy water.
