  • The Princess And The Frog

    It may be strange to think it, but in an age where we’re so used to 3D creatures, pixilated flying houses and talking toys, a 2D film can be considered pushing the boundaries of today’s kids entertainment. Gone is the golden age of Disney classics- The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin – all-singing, all dancing, all bloomin’ marvelous. Today what kids want is action explosions, nifty special effects and some smooth-talking robots, right?



  • The Fido Awards

    The Fido awards which are a kind of Oscars for dogs, will take place this weekend at the BFI Southbank in London. Canine characters, puppy protagonists and headlining hounds are becoming more and more frequent on our screens. It’s only fair therefore that their contribution to the world of cinema (which is cluttered with humans) is acknowledged and rewarded.


  • Monsters Vs Aliens

    An action packed yet rather fluffy CGI-romp from Dreamworks. Aliens are attacking, and the only ones who can beat them are monsters imprisoned by the government. For the wee ones, the in-jokes, great graphics and cameo appearances will be enough to satisfy, but if you’re looking for something with a bit more heart, we’d recommend the meatier offerings from Disney/Pixar.
