In a shocking U-Turn, Odeon cinemas have decided to reverse the boycott of Burton’s Alice In Wonderland they announced earlier in the week. A battle has been raging between UK distibutors and Disney for the last couple of weeks, and with this final news, it looks like there’s no defeating the House Of Mouse.

God, life is rubbish isn’t it? After a battle that has been raging over the past week between Disney and UK cinemas, Odeon has announced officially that it will not be showing Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland when it opens in March.

After a week of back and forth between the UK film distributors and Disney about whether the big cinemas will show Alice In Wonderland, it seems that Cineworld has broken ranks with the UK’s other major exhibitors. They have announced today that despite their argument with Disney, they will show the Burton epic after all. It seems that you just can’t take on the mouse-house.

After the world-domination success of the High School Musical trilogy, it’s only natural that the big dogs at Disney attempt a movie to fill the gaping gap in the tween market. And what have we learnt from High School Musical? Kids like High Schools. Kids like Dancing. Kids like other kids looking really fancy. Cue, Prom.

Last week we reported that UK cinemas are considering a boycott of Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland because of an argument over the length of cinema release in relation to the DVD release. Now it seems that Holland’s four largest exhibitors are reportedly threatening not to show Alice unless Disney backs down.

Disney has revealed – via facebook of all places – that’s it’s 2010 release based on the story of Rapunzel is going to be entitled Tangled. It could spell the end of the Disney tradition of naming their films after their central character, as it seems that the studio is worried that calling the film Rapunzel would alienate boys and prevent them from wanting to see it.

Oh dear, looks like the sequel to the movie of mad-cap racing cars is stuck at the starting-line. The release date of Cars 2 has been pushed back from June 2011 to December.

For all of those who loved Disney’s live action Noo York take on a full scale fairytale (and we’re not ashamed to admit that we’re among that number), hold onto your glittery, magic pants! Enchanted 2 is offiically set to go, though there have been a few changes to the production line-up.

In an interesting turn of fate, it looks like the original owners of Miramax are interesting in buying back the company from current owners Disney.
