    Bizarre visuals, outdated humour and a needlessly abstract moral prevent this prehistoric offering from DreamWorks Animation from living up to its potential. The animation flows smoothly enough and the 3D doesn’t offend, but when it’s difficult to recognise the message, let alone the wildlife, it’s fair to say that something has missed the mark.


  • Top 10 imaginary versus films

    There is nothing we like more here at BFF Towers than seeing two totally random creatures fight it out to the death. Alien vs Predator (one, not two), Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus, Mega Shark vs anything really… Later on this month Cockneys vs Zombies attacks our screens and to celebrate we thought it would be fun to think of the best versus films that neither man nor beast has ever thought of before. Some might say there is a reason why these films don’t exist…well we say WHATEVS! We will get a space on our mantelpiece ready for our Oscar. Let’s kick off with Strippers vs Werewolves…oh hang on…


  • Megamind 3D

    Having largely dropped the slapstick and pop-culture references for one-off masterpiece How To Train Your Dragon, DreamWorks return to what is ostensibly their comfort zone with Megamind, a post-modern take on a genre previously tapped by rival animation studio Pixar. Mindful of their past mistakes however, Megamind is another animated heavyweight that should have Pixar stand up and take notice.
