A few days ago, Best For Film’s editor John Underwood said something very, very rash on Twitter: “Deckard was so a replicant.” Just the sort of blasé observation that would usually pass unnoticed amongst the LOLcats and nasty comments about Giles Coren… usually, yes, but not this time. Comedian, musician, musical comedian, comic musician and bard/jester extraordinaire Mitch Benn heroically decided to set the record straight and, over the course of the longest article we have ever published, now presents his defence of the much-maligned 1982 cut of Ridley Scott’s masterpiece Blade Runner. PROMETHEUS PROMETHEUS PROMETHEUS FOREVER ARGHHH. Yeah yeah, sure we all know Scotty too hotty is the man behind the biggest thing to happen to aliens since The Fresh Prince put a suit on, but how much do you really know about him? Sometimes tense, sometimes scary, sometimes making no sense whatsoever, The Survivor is a captivating watch. Though I guarantee you’ll spend most of it baffled at how much Robert Powell and Jenny Agutter look alike.
“Tease me, tease me, tease me, tease me baby.” Enough of cheesy lyrics from old (but well loved songs), teaser trailers are awesome right? The best ones give you inkling of the film without spoiling it, they set the mood and make you excited for awesomeness (or rubbishness) that’s about to come. After Fincher’s latest teaser for the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, we thought we’d offer up a list of the best teasers we’ve seen.
There was all kinds of debate about what to call this blog. In the end we decided to keep the name Money shots, if you were expecting something else from a film website then perhaps we could satisfy you (urgh) with this blog on the top 15 visually stunning moments in film from 2000 – 2009.
