Behold as Benedict Cumberbatch either reaffirms or seizes your sexuality!
Notorious for scandalising even the French, Baise-Moi fought extremely hard against the label of ‘pornography’ given to it by the certification board. Boasting “prolonged sex scenes of an extremely explicit nature and scenes of graphic violence” and continued bans in many countries, this low-budget sexploitation is known more for its reputation rather than its content. All controversy aside, Baise-Moi is an midly enjoyable, if uneven, feminist punk fantasy.
Some days it feels like every ruddy actor out there is getting on set and making shit up. With all of the apocryphal stories about improvised lines and made up scenes you begin to wonder why Hollywood still needs screenwriters at all. Normally these tales are 100% bull. And no matter how many times Dustin Hoffman says he made up the “I’m walking here!” line we all know that he really didn’t. Every now and then though something comes along that just feels real. So here are the best, non-surgically enhanced wowza lines in cinema history. (Hello Boys! Yeah, they’re real.)
After a long and challenging week it’s finally Friday. The weekend is nigh and it’s the perfect time to indulge in a good old drinking game. But this is not just any old drinking game. No. For this drinking game you’ll need to be as unflappable and calm as James Bond, because if not there’s a chance this could get a little out of hand.
Ah, Lady Gaga. God, I love her. It doesn’t matter where I go or whom I write for, she somehow manages to do something mad and become the ultimate hot topic for EVERYBODY. After showcasing her male alter ego, Joe Calderone, at the VMAs, it got us thinking about the topic of gender and we came to the conclusion that people’s response should be something along the lines of “gender, shmender!”. Possibly in a more eloquent fashion. To celebrate this, we’ve decided to look at our 10 favourite cross-dressing movies (basically proving that I’ll take any excuse to ogle Tim Curry in fishnets…)
The release of 13 Assassins has brought with it the most petrifying and believable villain that has graced our cinema screens in a long time. Now that we have returned to creating characters that will keep you awake at night it is time to lament the passing of some of the most reprehensible humans ever brought to life.
If you love horror films and you have at least twenty-four hours to live, then there is absolutely nothing you should be doing more than reading (and subsequently adhering to) this itinerary. How else are you going to know what to watch at six thirty in the morning when you’ve just watched a zombie baby rip someone’s head open?
Everyone loves a villain – more fun to play, watch and steal quotes from than any floppy-haired namby-pamby good guy, and usually prettier to boot. It’s such a shame they always seem to end up getting shot/stabbed/thrown off buildings/drowned/burnt by hot doorknobs (damn you, Kevin McCallister), so we thought we’d round up some of our favourites for a Who’s Who of all the bad guys that really should have won.
Are you going to be forced to watch something insipid, dreadful and probably excessively Katherine Heigl-based this Valentine’s Day? Stretching your grimacing muscles in preparation for the inevitable “run to the airport/run to the wedding/run to where they’re trying on clothes” scene? Fear not! We’ve come up with a foolproof strategy to get you watching absolute classics this V-day. Read on, oh those who fear the pink DVD box…
