Interns Sue Black Swan For Being Treated As Interns

God. Some people are just sick, aren’t they? Imagine, hiring a batch of interns under the stipulation that you wouldn’t be paying them, and then subsequently not paying them. It’s cruel, it’s unfair and unfortunately it’s exactly how internships operate.

Yes, that’s right, Fox Searchlight are being sued by two former interns for their treatment during Black Swan. One plantiff Alex Footman (24), accused the producers of Black Swan for not providing the educational experience for which he allegedly signed up. He listed his core responsibilities at the Black Swan Headquarters as being making coffee, taking lunch orders and cleaning offices. Obviously, this sounds a bit crap, but at the end of the day if you have Black Swan on your production CV, surely it’s worth it? Apparently not. “The only thing I learned on this internship was to be more picky in choosing employment opportunities” said Footman in an interview.

With only two days left in our BFF internship, we can’t help but feel inspired by this. Watch out, BFF. You’re going to have to start paying for all that tea I made you.
