Judd Apatow to direct Train Wreck

Comedy juggernaut Judd Apatow has signed on to direct comedian Amy Schumer’s big-screen debut, Train Wreck.

Apatow, who has only actually directed four films before but has produced basically every film your little brother has ever wet himself laughing over, was originally due to produce Train Wreck but has since been promoted. Unfortunately, we’ve got no idea what he’s been promoted to, since we know absolutely nothing about the film beyond the fact that Schumer is writing and starring in it.

If you’re not familiar with Schumer, you’re probably English. She sort of looks like Jennifer Lawrence’s big sister, is all over Comedy Central like a rash and has appeared in 30 Rock, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Girls, and last year popped up in a couple of indie comedies and the decidedly odd Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. She was also recently featured in our sister website Work in Prowess’ inexhaustive list of the funniest women alive, which is a pretty solid recommendation. Here’s some of her stuff; basically anything she’s ever done is funnier than the last six years of Judd Apatow’s CV, so that bodes well.

See? She’s great. We have a good feeling about this.

Are you an Amy Schumer fan? How about a Judd Apatow fan? Yeah, not so much any more.
