Wolf of Wall Street VFX reel is jawdropping

We’re simple folk at Best For Film. We know that, for example, the Battle of Coruscant in Revenge of the Sith probably wasn’t filmed live, and that Hugh Jackman doesn’t actually have swords in his forearms, but beyond that we more or less assume that if we watch something onscreen, somewhere it actually happened. This is, apparently, not the case.

An extraordinary visual effects reel released by Brainstorm, one of the digital studios working on The Wolf of Wall Street, shows the lengths to which finicky directors can now go to remould the world as they see fit. The lion bit is maybe not so surprising, but the complexity of the other illusions that are unmasked in the below video is just amazing.

Have a watch:

WHAT THE. HOW DID THEY. WHO CAN DO THIS. SO EFFECTS. SUCH COMPLICATED. WOW. Nice one, Marty – your second ever movie on digital film, and you’ve turned us into Doge.

Did you know that humans could do this? We’re AMAZING.
