  • Letters To Juliet

But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is the flickering of Gary Winick’s winsome romantic comedy about one young woman’s quest for everlasting love in sun-dappled Verona, the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo And Juliet. Screenwriters Jose Rivera and Tim Sullivan serve up a steaming spaghetti of cliches, cultural stereotypes and unintentional laughs, garnished with a light classical and pop soundtrack.

  • Dear John

Dear John is a love story based on the book of the same name by author, and king of the romantic novel, Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook). It tells the story of 23 year-old soldier John Tyree (Channing Tatum), who falls in love with do-gooder college student Savannah Lynn Curtis (Amanda Seyfried). Everything goes hunky-dory until 9/11 happens and John has to go off to Afghanistan to fight the Taliban, leaving his lover behind, and they have to keep in touch through writing each other letters.

  • Chloe

Director Atom Egoyan probes the destructive power of obsession in this English language adaptation of Anne Fontaine’s 2003 film, Nathalie. Shot on location in wintry Toronto, which is almost as cold as some of the characters’ emotions, Chloe charts the journey of sexual re-discovery of a despairing wife whose marriage has been stuck in a rut for years. The method she chooses to reinvigorate her ailing relationship is unorthodox to say the least, unlocking deep-rooted desires that put not only herself but also her entire family in danger.

  • Amanda Seyfried To Star In Red Riding Hood?

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke has signed up to direct a gothic retelling of Little Red Riding Hood under the watchful eye of Warner Bros. And it looks like the girl in that famous cape will be none other than Amanda Seyfried (of Mamma Mia, Mean Girls and the up-coming Dear John). But nothing’s been signed, so we’re not out of the woods yet. (couldn’t resist)

  • Jennifer’s Body

The title of this movie says it all, really. Another in a seemingly never-ending line of horrendous teen slasher flicks, it’s based around the typically stupid premise of a high-school hottie who is inexplicably transformed into a blood-lusting demon. There’s only one reason I can think of that any of the movie going public would subject themselves to it – to have a good old perv at Megan Fox, aka said hottie-cum-demon, Jennifer Check.
