Paul WS Anderson has committed the greatest act of cultural rape since Stephenie Meyer thought “Whitby and dogs are all very well, but none of it’s really sparkly enough…”. The Three Musketeers is plagiarised from so many disparate sources that I can scarcely keep up with them – unfortunately, however, Alexandre Dumas’ classic romance isn’t among them. This film is unforgivable.

Water for Elephants is a strange beast, trying to be a whimsical blockbuster whilst seeming to long for a lot more action. If you marry the physical beauty of Robert Pattinson with the cerebral Christoph Waltz, add a pinch of Witherspoon and throw in a circus set, voila you have one gigantic melting pot of a movie that delivers some beautiful cinematography, a little whimsy and a whole lot of violence.
Seth Rogen and Michel Gondry – together at last! A most original cinematic odd couple whose Green Hornet manages to absorb elements of the best of both; the pair combine trademark Rogen gagsmithery and Gondry mind-bending visuals to breathe life into a threadbare tale and bring verve and invention to a genre creaking under the sheer weight of its own offerings.
