  • Lead found for Life Of Pi

    The strange tale of a boy trapped on a boat with a Bengali tiger, a hyena, a zebra and an orangutan took the world by storm when it was published back in 2001. And – as with basically any book that causes a flurry of excitement – it was perhaps inevitable that the story would make the leap onto the big screen. Director Ang Lee has today confirmed that he’s cast unknown actor and Delhi highschooler Suraj Sharma as lead character Pi.

    According to the US box office Dreamworks’ How To Train Your Dragon still has plenty of bite, as it’s nabbed the top spot with $20 million this weekend. Just below that – and to our disappointment – Kick-Ass’s opening weekend has been rather lack-luster, cashing in just $19.75 million, despite brilliant reviews across the board and the promise of a 11year old assassin. Seriously, what more can film-goers want?


  • Clash of the Titans

    Clash of the Titans is a remake of the 1981 classic of the same name, and tells the tale of the legendary Greek hero Perseus. Perseus (Sam Worthington) is the son of Zeus, but he’s been living the life of a fisherman down on Earth, unaware of his divine heritage. Perseus’ adopted family are killed by the evil god Hades and he vows revenge. Hades tells the King of Argos that unless he sacrifices his daughter Andromache to the gods, the Kraken will destroy the city, so Perseus and a rag-tag bunch of misfits set off on a quest to find three legendary witches who can tell them how to defeat the monster.

  • Warner Bros Get 3D Mania

    It seems that the letters ‘3D’ have taken on serious money-making significance for film-makers everywhere. Warner Bros has announced that their next few films – including Green Lantern, Sucker Punch, Clash Of The Titans and Harry Potter – will all be given the 3D treatment.
