  • Top 10 Time Travel Movies that Feature Assholes

If time travel is ever made possible (spoiler! It won’t be) we’d like to think that we could overcome our urges to start messing around with the fabric of reality. We certainly wouldn’t be tempted to do anything noble, where you try to avert a tragedy and save gazillions of lives, like killing Baby Hitler. No, no, here at Best For Film it’s likely our motives would be much more base. Winning the lottery comes to mind. Or going back 5 minutes and scratching our backs in juuust the right place.

  • Friday Drinking Game #59 – Time travel

Everyone loves a time-travel movie. Everyone. It’s the ultimate dream; to be able to flit back through time and tell your younger self to stop after the sixth Jägerbomb; to flit forward in time and find out the lottery numbers; to visit the dinosaurs (ill-advised) or our inevitably dystopian future (iller-advised). Of course, it’s all fantasy, and the fact that it’s impossible causes all sorts of consternation among nerds, who try and puzzle the various internal logics of such films until the wee small hours. Specifically, 43-year-old Australian actors who have starred in films ranging from drag queen comedies to period dramas via cannibal war flicks. Actors like Guy Pearce, in fact. Get yo’ass in here, boy, you’ve got a lot to learn…

  • Hot Tub Time Machine

Everyone loves a buddy comedy, right? Sure the laughs are cheap, but generally they’re thick, fast and cheerful, with a plot that careers like an enthusiastic labrador to a satisfyingly predictable conclusion. Bless them, we say. Bless all who ride in them. Unless, of course, you’re talking about Hot Tub Time Machine; the laziest, dully-degrading, least funny bromance movie we’ve seen in some time, made all the more offensive by the evident comic potential of the cast. Oh dear oh dear. And the title was so awesome.
