Based on true events, The Torment charts the unravelling of friendships and sanity as a man visits his best friends in an attempt to seek sanctuary from what he believes to be a demonic possession. Alex (Nicholas Shaw) and Kate (Zoe Richards) find themselves offering David (Giles Alderson) a place to stay while he deals with a recent and painful relationship break-up. Things take a dark turn as David confesses to believing he is being haunted. Can Alex, Kate and their neighbour Anna (Francesca Fowler) believe him? Can they even believe their own eyes as events take a turn for the worse?

For lucky locals, The Torment is showing at the Dark Mills Festival on Saturday 4th September 2010, and at the Lexi Cinema 3-9 September 2010. It’s a bijou, underground little affair so catch it while you can.
