“One of the best films of the year” – Daily Mail

“British humour at its very best… hilarious” – Red

Tamara Drewe is released on Blu-ray & DVD on 28 March by Momentum Pictures.

Stephen Frears directs this charming British comedy drama about an ugly duckling followed by a handful of suitors after maturing into a sexy swan.

Tamara Drewe (Gemma Arterton) grew from a young girl to a plain and awkward teenager in Ewedown, a quiet community dominated by a writers’ colony. When Tamara returns home for the first time in years, the locals are surprised to discover that time (and a nose job) have turned her into an attractive and alluring woman, and she’s gained a share of money and fame thanks to a successful newspaper column.

Returning to refurbish the home of her recently deceased mother, Tamara soon finds herself pursued by three men from her past – her former boyfriend, an indie rock band drummer and a philandering husband. Which – if any – will she pick?

Tamara Drewe, adapted from the graphic novel of the same name by Posy Simmonds, makes for a charming and engaging movie and another successful production by screen legend Stephen Frears.

What is Ewedown, where Tamara grew up?

1. A writers’ colony
2. A dairy farm
3. A nest of vicious cockatrices
