Kevin Kline joins Jack Black and Nic Cage in new Kaufman flick

This one makes our heads hurt a bit. So, the glorious Charlie Kaufman is in the middle of gearing up for his next project, and so far has Steve Carell, Nic Cage, Jack Black and – as of today – Kevin Kline as his talking props. And you’ll be pleased to learn that Kline will be playing two parts: an immensely successful film director, and also his animatronic head. Right, shall we find out what on earth is going on?

The film, entitled Frank Or Francis, is – according to imdb- “A satire of Hollywood set to music, where a film director feuds with a blogger.” Jack Black is set to play the blogger in question – Francis, a troller who is determined to take down the maker of the most successful film ever made (as played by Kline). Nic Cage will be stepping in as The Emcee, a desperately famous actor who’s success has come from high-concept big-hitters like Fat Dad (so… he’s playing Adam Sandler?)

We’re not totally sure where Steve Carell or the animatronic head fits in, but if there’s one concept-man we have faith in it’s Chris Nolan. Closely followed by Charlie Kaufman. As the man responsible for such scripts as Being John Malkovich, Adaptation and Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, we know when to sit back, relax, and happily keep googling “Kevin Kline Animatronic Head”. And as for the potential in a spoof trailer of Fat Dad… the mind boggles. Bring on more information!
