Being a dad is hard, especially when your kids turn into raging bags of hormones. Either I’ve reached the age where I identify with the parents in high school movies, rather than the teenagers themselves (how depressing), or they were some of the best characters to start with. I’m hoping it’s the latter. Either way, the fathers of these angst-ridden children have it tough. Here are five who seem to do the best for their kids, against all odds:
Ewan McGregor is making girls cry all over the UK again in Perfect Sense, a love story set in a world of despair and doom. To celebrate our favourite Scottish hotty’s return to independent drama, we’ve decided to have a look back over his film career. Mmm. Especially The Pillow Book; there’s nothing like a bit of full frontal nudity to get us in the mood for fab film facts courtesy of the Cheat Sheet!
Justin Bieber’s babyfaced – yet surprisingly deep-voiced – squeeze Selena Gomez takes the lead in Tom Bezucha’s new high-concept teen comedy. There’s lashings of dreamy suitors and pretty dresses galore, but the only real sparkle to be found belongs to a rather fancy Bulgari necklace.
The Art of Getting By, a film about New York teenagers dealing with the woes of negligent parenting, first love, and existentialism, is just as likeable as it sounds.
God, things are sexy, aren’t they? So many things that there are, and all of them sexy. Baths, cooking, pithy conversations in a descending elevator – all you need is Anne Hathaway, some improbably witty back and forth with a chiselled titaniMAN, and boom – fruitful flesh-grappling is in the air. Except, of course, that it never is. Not really.
Hollywood actress Brittany Murphy, best known for her roles in Clueless and Sin City, has died at the young age of 32. Murphy was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles early Sunday morning after her mother found her unconscious in the shower.
