  • TGIM! Peckham & Nunhead Free Film Festival

    Now that Film4’s Frightfest has been and gone, leaving gory red stains of blood and viscera all over London (pity the poor street-cleaners), there’s a somewhat tamer festival of all things film for the capital to embrace. Called the Peckham and Nunhead Free Film Festival, it does exactly what it says on the tin, exactly where it says on the tin. The festival has a diverse roster of films and events, all of which are wonderfully free.


  • Whiskey Galore!

    To celebrate the 80th birthday of Ealing Studios, the classic Whisky Galore is back on our big screens as of the 29th July. And frankly, I couldn’t be happier. Spruced up with digital restoration, stylistically stunning cover designs and retaining its utter, utter brilliance – there’s no excuse, you simply have to see it.

    So after a wet and blustery June and a less than tropical July, it looks like August is going to be no better. So, rather than delay the inevitable, best face facts now: that barbeque is staying in the shed, you’re not going to get a chance to wear that bikini and picnic food tastes rubbish when it’s covered in rain.
