We know, we know, you’re sick of hearing stuff about Avatar. So are we frankly, but you know what, we don’t often get to report that there’s a new highest grossing film of all-time, and dammit, we’re going to enjoy it whether you want us to or not.

Yep, that’s right, James Cameron has finally beaten his most worthy nemesis; his past self. Avatar, after weeks and weeks and endless bloomin weeks at the top of the UK and US box offices, has finally overtaken Titanic to become the highest grossing film ever, taking a staggering $1.85 billion worldwide. And it seems there’s no end in sight for this phenomenon, with Monday alone earning Cameron another cool $15 million. Pocket-change in his book of course, but we wouldn’t mind if he threw a penny or two our way. The only question is, can Avatar 2 and 3 do the same? And could he ever look himself in the mirror again if they don’t? No pressure James, but you don’t half make things tricky for yourself, don’t you?
