WIN: The Invisible Woman by Claire Tomalin
*Competition ends 13th March 2014*
Ralph Fiennes directs and stars in The Invisible Woman, alongside Felicity Jones, Kristin Scott Thomas, Michelle Fairley and Tom Hollander. The film, which explores the untold story of Charles Dickens’ long term mistress, is Fiennes’ second film as director, following 2011’s Coriolanus.
The Invisible Woman is released in cinemas on 7th February in London and a few other key cities, and then nationwide on 21st February. To celebrate, we’ve got an unusually non-DVD-shaped prize available for three lucky readers – copies of the book that inspired the film, The Invisible Woman by Claire Tomalin.
Nelly, a happily married mother and school teacher, is haunted by her past. Her memories, provoked by remorse and guilt, take us back in time to follow the story of her relationship with Charles Dickens with whom she discovered an exciting but fragile complicity.
Dickens – famous, controlling and emotionally isolated within his success – falls for Nelly, who comes from a family of actors. The theatre is a vital arena for Dickens, a brilliant amateur actor and a man more emotionally coherent in his work, or on stage, than in life. As Nelly becomes the focus of Dickens’ passion and his muse, for both of them secrecy is the price, and for Nelly a life of ‘invisibility’.

Love to see this actors are really good
When playing second fiddle
Emotional attachment is wasted
You might get spotted by the wife
And end up loosing your life
How often truth is stranger than fiction and yet we often ridicule fiction for being far fetched and beyond belief. An untold tale indeed.
i love watch the film and heard it’s really good
