Elysium trailer reveals waaay too much
Elysium, the massively epic sci-fi project from director Neill Blomkamp, has a new trailer, but some might say it shows a bit too much. It is a beautiful trailer, in that it continues to make Elysium one of our most anticipated films of the year, but honestly you’d be better off not watching it. The trailer previous to this had similar footage of Elysium without spoiling major plot developments, go watch that instead.
That being said, here’s the spoilery trailer for Elysium:
If you’ve watched it, you now know Matt Damon‘s motivations for trying to reach Elysium, and it’s a little derivative. Bit of a shame really, everything else is ingeniously designed, yet the reasons spurring the characters on have been seen a thousand times before. Hopefully Neill Blomkamp can sell it in such a way that it feels like the first time. We have faith in Elysium, and we have faith the extraordinary talents of Neill Blomkamp. Don’t let us down!
Elysium opens up the new empyrean of heaven (or something) when the film lands in UK cinemas on 28th August. We’ll be there opening night.
