One of the many ways in which Hollywood have flogged a thousand dead horses, the reboot is not only alive and well but getting faster. We take a look at a few that actually worked, and a few more that made our eyes bleed. Beware; there will be many highs, lows and gratuitous wrestling analogies.
Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem directors return with SFX-soaked alien invasion tale. Not only the worst film of the year, this is possibly one of the worst films to have ever hit cinemas. The actors seem to sleepwalk through a script that is not worth the beermat it’s scribbled on, and even the admittedly spectacular effects cannot save this shockingly derivative film from the tasteless direction of its creators.
Poor old Ridley Scott. He’s spending all his time out and about promoting this new Robin Hood movie he’s made with Russell Crow, but all anyone wants to ask him about is the Alien prequel. And now he’s saying the prequel will have a sequel!
It’s a case of all work and no play for Avatar director and all-around blockbuster wizard James Cameron. He’s jumping straight back on the production wagon, developing a new, as yet unannounced sci-fi script for Fox.
