  • Save our Independent Cinemas! This week: the Prince Charles

    Independent cinemas are bloody brilliant. Nobody’s wearing a uniform more elaborate than a black t-shirt, the bar has drinks which aren’t carbonated or soft, and if anyone tries to fumble for an Orange Wednesdays text-ticket they’re cast into the outer darkness. Cracking. This week we’ve been to another one – the unique and spectacular Prince Charles.


  • Cop Out

    Since his ultra-low budget 1994 debut, Clerks, writer-director Kevin Smith has forged his reputation and cult status with potty-mouthed comedies, which celebrate the unspoken bonds of friendship between men. No better is this exemplified that the misfit characters of Jay and Silent Bob, who wreak havoc in many of his films. Smith brings those same sensibilities to bear on the action comedy Cop Out, about a pair of NYPD officers on the trail of a stolen baseball card.


  • Kevin Smith Thrown Off Plane

    Kevin Smith, Director of Clerks, Chasing Amy and universally loved for his role as Silent Bob in various teen flicks, has been ejected from a Southwest Airlines flight for being too fat. The director was deemed a ‘safety risk’ and was forced to book another flight after being told that he was not allowed to board the plane he had booked a ticket on.
