No romance here, guys – we’re bored of all those piffly romantic movie breakup lists we’ve seen scattered all over the place. We get it, y’know – love is fleeting, heartache is awful, blah blah blah. And so, to celebrate / mourn the demise of JLS, we’ve decided to take a look back over the top 10 most devastating movie breakups of all time. Ready your tearducts, people!
This is the final part of a trilogy of equally amazing films, but because it is the culmination of a series of dark and dangerous events is PRECISELY why it is so brilliant. When films have a satisfying payoff full of delicious goodness, a climax that rewards you for taking the time to watch it; it’s like eating your favourite dinner then sitting back and revelling in that ‘just full enough’ feeling. There are few films that do this better than Return of the King.

Fresh from appearing in a slew of epic fanboy sagas, he has a lot of experience in physical roles and is prepared to go further than the average actor to achieve the physical authenticity necessary to convince countless audiences that he is all too capable of kicking some serous ass. After getting a look at those impressive biceps in Judge Dredd, we don’t doubt it.
