The new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man has debuted, and after the CGI carcrash of the last one it’s like manna from Heaven for Peter Parker fans. It’s all going on – if your Tuesday mornings aren’t complete without seeing Andrew Garfield fight forty cops and Rhys Ifans turn into a massive newt, you’ve come to absolutely the right place.

That’s more like it. Things we love about this trailer: EVERYTHING but mostly the jumping and the fighting and the Lizard and Emma Stone’s fringe. Seriously, fringes are not supposed to look that good. We don’t like her as a blonde, though…

Returning to the real world, what do you actually make of Rhys Ifans’ Dr Curt Connors/The Lizard? Apparently he spends most of the film not being Lizarded up, which is probably for the best (reptilian mo-cap is still a bit dodgy, we reckon), but the flashes of Lizardy goodness look pretty convincing. Once you’ve accepted that there’s a nine-foot salamander with a subtle Welsh accent charging around, of course.
