Aronofsky considering Robocop reboot?

Award-winning director Darren Aronofsky certainly has got enough on his plate. What with filming for The Wolverine happening in the not so distant future and recently attached to Machine Man as well as Brad Pitt’s The Tiger, it’s surprising he has time for anything. A Robocop reboot, however, might be joining that impressive list as well.

In a recent interview, Aronofsky said: “Well, RoboCop may still happen one day, who knows? It’s MGM and hopefully they’ll clear their stuff up and I’m still interested.” Which, while nothing concrete, certainly suggests that if MGM studios can sort out their current financial crisis, something they’re apparently in the process of doing, we might be seeing the production of Robocop in the upcoming year. Possibly fitting snugly between The Wolverine and Aronofsky’s other commitments. It doesn’t seem too convincing though, a Robocop reboot has been on the cards for several years now, but if anyone could succeed at making it – it would be Aronofsky.
