In what will hopefully be a return to glorious deform, we’re happy to present the very first teaser trailer for David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis. Having surprised us all with last year’s (perfectly good, perfectly clean) A Dangerous Method, I think it’s fair to say that we’ve all been missing the dark edge that made the creator of Videodrome, eXistenZ and The Fly a legend of body horror. And bringing Robert Pattinson along for the ride? Is this madness or genius?

Based on a novel by Don DeLillo, Cosmopolis tracks a single day in the life of multi-billionaire Eric Parker (Pattinson) as he traverses a dystopian Manhattan to get his hair cut. As he begins to realise that, due to betting against the rise of the Yen, he is losing billions of dollars for his clients, he starts to revel in his own downfall, determined to take down whoever he can with him.
