God, this is like that stupid Spider-Man news all over again. Even though The Hunger Games, Gary Ross (and now Stephen Soderbergh)’s adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ wildly successful book, isn’t due out until next March. Lionsgate has already announced the release date of its sequel Catching Fire. It’s MORE THAN TWO YEARS AWAY. Surely nobody cares that much?

There’s no word as to whether stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth or director Gary Ross will will return for the Catching Fire, so basically all we know is that on 22nd November 2013 we’ll be served up the (probably inferior) sequel to a film we won’t even be watching for the thick end of another year. That all makes perfect sense.
