Rumours abound that Natalie Portman is considering playing the lead role in an adaptation of the original Snow White fairytale by the Brothers Grimm.

The project, which will use a reimagined script produced by Melisa Wallack, has also reportedly caught the interest of Delicatessen and Amélie director Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Brett Ratner (X-Men) is already confirmed as a producer, but it’s only now that things have got really interesting.

Following her recent involvement with Black Swan, Natalie Portman is definitely in a position to pick and choose her work at the moment, and Jeunet is definitely not an obvious choice for such an edgy and unpredictable project. She must know something we don’t, and we can’t wait to find out what…
