Well, with the upcoming Monopoly movie (we know, we know) and the possibility of Cluedo, Stretch Armstrong and Battleships films on the horizon, why should anyone be surprised that a Rollercoaster Tycoon movie could be in the works?

Sony Animation have, rather premptively, secured the movie rights to the themepark-constructing PC game that we so loved back oh so many years ago. All we know so far is that its going to be a mixture of CGI and live-action, which rather points to a dodgy “oh look I’m been sucked into the game!” type premise. But hey, our hopes are still… well… not high exactly but you know, surely it can’t be worse than Monopoly, right?
