Following great DVD sales in the US, it’s beginning to look more and more likely that a sequel to the glorious Kick Ass will soon get off the ground. Though the film’s makers have yet to comment, the comic’s writer Mark Millar told radio 5 that the film is officially on.

So what did he say exactly? –

“The estimate is [Kick-Ass] will do 100 to 150 million on DVD based on the American sales, so it’ll end up making a quarter of a billion on a 28 million investment. So It should be okay. So the sequel’s greenlit, we can go ahead and do the follow up now, you know. The first made so much compared to what it cost it would be crazy not to.”

Yes. Yes it would be crazy. We’re all desperate to see what happens next in the tales of Kick Ass, Red Mist, Hit Girl and more (but mainly Hit Girl). Come on Vaughn! Give us confirmation already! For those who simply can’t wait any longer, the new comic – Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall will be hitting shelves as part of new mag CLiNT tomorrow. Hurrah!
