With a spring in my step and a curl in my hair, I wish I could sing you the news that the R.L Stine book series Goosebumps is set to be made into a feature film!

The deal is with Columbia Pictures, Neal Moritz is set to produce and Carl Ellsworth is writing the spine-chilling, sweat-making and, oh go on then, goosebumping film.  Hold on to your hats, ladies, it’s sure to be a hell of a ride.  Or like a children’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

But before you start scoffing, cast your minds back to the books; the thrill,  the suspense and the nightmares that followed after delving into the Edgar Allen Poe stories of our generation (kind of).  And what other story allowed us to choose our OWN ENDING??  Hurrah, freedom to the masses!

I learnt many a lesson from Goosebumps, although a pinch of salt would not have gone amiss.  Or a fistful.   I still kind of believe a mask could attach itself to my face, librarians aren’t to be trusted and that one day, I will be trapped in a theme park run by monsters.

But hey ho, it just means that come Halloween, I will be using my own face to scare people.
