Short Film of the Week: The Extinguisher
Mini interview with short film director Graham Rathlin
One thing we loved about this short film was the location, location, location…
The film was shot at the old Beckton gasworks (gone now, sadly) which doubled for war-torn Vietnam in Stanley Kubrick’s “Full Metal Jacket’.
Best short film-making experience?
Most fun was shooting my short film Little Snaps of Horror in an old-fashioned photobooth in Berlin, because there are none left in the UK. They’re all digital these days.
Worst short film-making experience?
I had to keep telling the sound recordist on The Extinguisher to keep quiet as he was always drunk and kept singing and making noise. I sacked him in the end and all the sound was added in post production.
