Ghostbusters 3 will be out next year, apparently.
Despite the fact the third installment of Ghostbusters has been in “development hell” for the last decade and the glorious Bill Murray may not be involved, Ghostbusters 3 is going forward! Dan Aykroyd, who is 100% behind the project, has said it should start filming in 2014 and insists that he new script is going to be good: “I feel re-encouraged, reinvigorated by the pages that I have seen. I know that we’re expecting half of the screenplay to be completed very soon.” He has also given away some wonderfully geeky plot info: “The Higgs Boson and the particle theories, gluons and mesons, that really gives us a scientific base in terms of our fictional storytelling, to open up to another dimension and have something horrible coming through.”
Aycroyd and co-star Harold Ramis wrote both the 1984 Ghostbusters film and Ghostbusters 2 in 1989, but they have been having trouble coming up with a satisfying concept for the next installment. Another aspect which is potentially unpromising is that Etan Cohen (not to be mistaken with Ethan Cohen) is getting on board with the script – and he wrote Men in Black 3 – by far the most rubbish Men in Black film in all the Universes. Hopefully Ghostbusters 3 wont follow suit…
Men in Black 3 worse than Men in Black 2? Are you sure about that??? Anyways, I hope Ghostbusters 3 goes ahead, even without the legendary Mr Murray. It could still be great…couldn’t it?
We are definitely sure about that. As for GB3, we’re not holding our breath – we’ve been reporting on this film for a very long time…
