Jeffrey Dean Morgan joins thriller Solace

The Losers star Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be joining Irish bad lad Colin Farrell and British acting royalty Sir Anthony Hopkins in Solace, a drama scheduled to begin shooting in Detroit in May. Jeffrey is down to play an FBI agent in what is likely to be a tense flick. Alfonso Poyart is in the director’s chair.

Hopkins, last seen in the Alfred Hitchcock biopic imaginatively titled Hitchcock, plays a former doctor with psychic abilities, which he utilises to try and catch a killer (Farrell) only to discover that the pesky wrongdoer also has psychic powers. Might we see some sort of chair-flinging, grunting, face-making telepathic showdown between the twosome at the film’s climax? We think so.

Hopkins is bound to bring every ounce of his gravitas to the table for this one, and anyone who has seen Daredevil will know that Col can pull off “villain-of-the-piece” rather well. Dean Morgan, a solid actor, is the perfect foil for both of them in the role of stalwart copper caught in the middle. Until then, Jeffrey will be next seen in Red Dawn and The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea opposite Chloe Moretz and Jessica Biel.
