McKellen and Fry unite in Fellowship to battle a powerful, unceasing force for corruption, evil and doom – LA lawyers.
To celebrate the upcoming release of War Horse (and an all-girl, no Underwood BFF team) we decided to delve into the film archive and pull out (you guessed it!) the Top 10 Film Horses. Just for the record, this was never intended to happen; I pitched an article about novel-to-movie adaptations and, somehow, we ended up shaking on an equine extravaganza. From the likes of Troy and The Lord Of The Rings, all the way up to Shrek and Disney, it seems we’ve got enough material to keep even the most avid pony-philes happy…
Yeah alright, they’re basically the same as the last ones, BUT WE DON’T CARE
Stop press – The Hobbit will actually feature characters from The Hobbit!
YOU HEARD THE TITLE. YES. IT’S ALL TRUE.
Sir Ian, how could you bamboozle us so? Last week we reported that filming of The Hobbit would finally be getting underway around July, based on a confident assertion by the wizard with the mostest. It seems that Gandalf’s powers are waning however, as today it’s been reported that filming won’t be starting until the end of the year. And possibly not even then. Sigh.
With the massive success of Wicked – the musical that tells The Wizard Of Oz from the Wicked Witch’s point of view, and the announcement that Disney plan to release a film about Malificent – the witch from Sleeping Beauty, it seems everyone wants to take a fresh look at an old tale. Screw the good guys, it’s all about the other side of the coin.
After much speculation, rumour and set-backs, it could be that The Hobbit is actually going to start shooting in July. And how do we know? Cos Gandalf told us. Yeah. Put that in your elven bread and stab it to death with a big sword.
Planned Hobbit films get year-long delay. Planned for a December 2011 release, Variety hinted that Guillermo del Toro’s highly-anticipated adaptation won’t been seen until the “fourth quarter 2012”. As well as delays in writing the second film’s script, MGM’s upcoming sale has also thrown a spanner into the works.
