Sugar coated as “the new Twilight” (a preposterous decision by its PR team), Beautiful Creatures successfully manages to come out a hundred times better. I may be its key demographic (geeky girl seeks escapist fantasy) but I went in, fellow Twilight h8er, expecting the worst. I was turned. Combining likeable characters with a refusal to take itself too seriously, Beautiful Creatures is this year’s perfect Valentine’s day guilty pleasure.

Oh hello there Summer. How y’doing? Whatcha been up to? Sure is nice to see you. So how long do you reckon you’ll – oh, you’ve gone.
It came, it went and, in honour of the sun’s fleeting but glorious presence, we’ve compiled our Top 10 Summer Movies. Or whatever, they probably aren’t aware of its existence.

Now if they want to do this, it turns out they’re going to need an actor to play the Doctor (we were as shocked as you were). So we thought we’d give the film producers a hand, and let you all know our picks for who would make superb Doctors Whos.
As the financial crisis looms, one firm has to make the toughest of calls in this excellent fiscal drama. Margin Call has got the right cast, the right script and the right message to become a classic. The only villain here is the capitalist system itself; something no protagonist can overcome because “the money’s too good.”
