Australian cinema has given us some cult classics over the years, proving that the country’s cinematic output isn’t all Baz Luhrmann. The Castle, now being re-released 15 years after it was made, is perhaps the best of the bunch. Hilarious and touching – just get it, it’s a ripper! (That’s Australian for “good”).
In what we think as pretty sad news, the original owners of the Miramax company – brothers Bob and Harvey Weinstein – have failed in their bid to buy back their company Miramax from Disney.
In an interesting turn of fate, it looks like the original owners of Miramax are interesting in buying back the company from current owners Disney.
After over 30 years of making quality films, Miramax – the brain child of Hollywood Producers Harvey and Bob Weinstein – has been shut down by parent corporation Disney.
