Edward Norton has released a statement on Facebook responding to the news that he will not be returning as the Hulk for Whedon’s Avengers movie.
It appears Marvel did not like Edward Norton when he was angry. Or any other way for that matter, as the news was broke today that Norton will not be reprising his role as The Hulk in the upcoming Avengers movie.
The first Iron Man was the surprise hit of 2008 and propelled Robert Downey Jr back into super-stardom. It was the first movie from Marvel Studios, the Marvel comic group’s own production company, and was hailed as a huge success. So just two years after the first movie, Robert Downey Jr is back as the eccentric billionaire Tony Stark. But is the sequel any good? Well, no. Not really.
It’s a prospect that will have comic book fans salivating everywhere: Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator and geek god Joss Whedon is in final talks to direct Marvel’s The Avengers. This is a superhero film of such potential epicness it’s making us here at Best For Film feel very dizzy. In a good way.
After the stonking success of 2009s Star Trek, it’s not much of a surprise that the head honchos at Paramount have been falling over themselves to plan the sequel. Originally meant to be released in June 1011, Paramount have announced that the second Star Trek film will hit our screens a full year later, on the 29th July 2012.
Sad news for a lot of comic book fans here. On New Year’s Eve, The Disney Corporation (boo, hiss, etc.) officially took over Marvel Entertainment, the company responsible for Spider-Man, X-Men, Iron Man and a bevy of other superhero franchises.
