  • Wild Target

A British re-make of a black French comedy, Wild Target is a film that, sadly, never quite hits the bullseye. Bill Nighy, Rupert Grint, Rupert Everett, Martin Freeman and Emily Blunt all lent their hands to this crime caper, with a script never quite lives up to the talent around it. Despite its stellar cast and romping pace, the team are let down by bad jokes, sloppy storytelling and cliche characters.

The top-secret script for Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides was found left on a table in a London cafe after the film’s bosses stopped for lunch and forgot to take it with them. Luckily for them (and deeply unluckily for dastardly film schemers like us) the script was found by an avid Pirates fan (presumably the only one left), who decided not to look at the script at all.

Before we all burst into tears (of joy or despair, depending on your love of sparkles), we have to tell you that a Glee film is not definitely in the making, only that certain facts about the Glee cast’s contracts have come to light. It turns out that those sneaky critters at Fox (cunning as a?) thought very carefully about this franchise before they got their cast to sign on the dotted line, as they are all locked in for three feature films if the company so wishes.

It’s not out here till October, but we’re all used to being bombarded with advertising well in advance now, right? Social Network – the movie based on the life and times of the creators of Facebook – have released their first poster, as well as giving a wee hint as to their central website.

  • Brooklyn’s Finest

Nine years after he guided Denzel Washington to the Oscar for his riveting portrayal of a corrupt Los Angeles cop in Training Day, director Antoine Fuqua ventures onto the mean, crime-riddled streets of New York. With a dispassionate eye, he once again goes on patrol with the men and women who proudly promise to uphold the law then occasionally bend it beyond recognition
