Ah Paris. City of love. Known throughout the world for romantic overtures, fine cuisine, star-lit walks and, of course, kick-ass car chases. Director Pierre Morel returns to the scene of previous cinematic crimes for this explosive tour of the capital in the company of two mismatched American agents on a quest to dismantle a terrorist cell. Unfortunately, the terrible script and dodgy casting means that the only love we brought back from Paris was the relief in seeing the ending credits.
Could it be? Kevin Bacon back in our hearts, where he belongs? Maybe not. But the story that made him famous; that of a teenager who discovers that his new hometown has outlawed rock music and dancing, might very well be back on our screens. And who’s heading it up? Non other than Black Snake Moan’s Craig Brewer.
You know what we enjoy doing? Going to the future. We also enjoy going back to the future, but we gotten into copyright problems with that before. PT Anderson, director of such films as Magnolia and There Will Be Blood, has announced that his new film The Master will focus on a story of a man who starts his own religon, and will star the wonderful Philip Seymour Hoffman as the cult’s charismatic leader.
